Asave is a small web app that helps you keep a local copy of public Instagram media. You bring a share link; we show a preview and let you store the file on your phone or computer. There is nothing to install from an app store.

In the Instagram app, open the clip, choose Share, then Copy link. Drop that address into the field above and press Download. Watch the preview, then keep the MP4 if it looks right.

No credentials are required. Locked or followers-only posts stay out of reach on purpose—if you need a password to see something in Instagram, Asave cannot retrieve it either.

Switch to the Reels tab (or jump to the dedicated reels page). After the clip loads, check the player, then grab the file. Resolution follows whatever Instagram already shipped for that reel—often sharp enough for Full HD screens.

Public stories work while they are live. Expired rings and private accounts return nothing. Act quickly; stories disappear after Instagram's usual window.

Grab a share link that ends with /p/... and use the Photos tab. When the still image appears, save it from the preview—same flow as video, just a picture file.

Carousel posts show a grid once loaded. Pull each frame you need from that grid so multi-slide posts do not force a single composite download.

If the post includes usable sound, an audio control shows under the preview after the fetch completes. Use it when you only care about the track, not the picture.

We do not stamp branding onto your files. What you receive is the same public stream Instagram already exposes for that URL.

Most creators upload far below cinema-grade resolution, and Instagram compresses further. Expect 720p or 1080p far more often than true 4K—check the preview rather than assuming ultra-high definition.

Bitrate and size come from Instagram's edge servers for that exact link. We do not invent sharper pixels, re-encode to “enhance,” or promise a tier Instagram never published.

Private feeds stay unavailable by design. The tool only succeeds when a post is openly reachable in a normal browser with no session cookie.

Phones are a first-class fit. Chrome or Safari on Android and iPhone can finish an entire save without installing a companion APK or iOS app.

Yes—desktop browsers handle the same paste-and-preview flow. Larger screens just make checking framing and sharpness easier before you keep a file.

Stick to up-to-date Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge. If something stalls, refresh once or try a private window; stale caches and broken shorteners cause most odd failures.

Core fetching and saving stay free. You may see ads after accepting non-essential cookies; declining keeps those out.

Longer public uploads—legacy IGTV included—follow the same paste, preview, save path when Instagram still serves a stream for the link.

Owning a file on your disk does not grant you redistribution rights. Keep personal copies only where you are allowed to, honor creators, and read our Terms plus DMCA pages for how we handle notices. We are independent of Meta.

Usual culprits: the author deleted the post, the story aged out, the account flipped to private, the URL was shortened by a third party, or temporary rate limits kicked in. Open the link yourself first; if Instagram blocks you, we will too.

Confirm you pasted a full instagram.com address. Reload once, switch networks if the CDN is slow, and pause aggressive blockers only long enough to test. Incomplete hashes and cut-off URLs almost always look like a blank screen.

Passwords are never requested. Media moves through a short-lived fetch so you can preview and keep a file; lasting archives of your downloads are not a product feature. Details live in the Privacy Policy.

Yes for public accounts. Open the Profile tab or the profile picture downloader page, paste an @username, preview the avatar, and save the JPG. Private profiles are not supported.

Traffic runs over HTTPS in your own browser. Avoid pasting obscure shortened links from strangers, and keep your OS patched like you would for any other site.

Once a file sits in your gallery or downloads folder, playback no longer needs Asave. Fetching a new item always requires connectivity.
